Imagination, fantasy and animation- a season of new work 2016/17

Friends, Romans, Egyptians.........

September - October 2016

Whole day residencies with up to 90 children!

Snap Theatre delves into the mysterious history of the Ancient Romans and Egyptians with a series of theatrical and literacy based workshops that will inspire a new generation of writers to describe the world around them.

A team of professional artists (Actors, Dancers, Musicians, Poets) led by award winning director and writer, Andy Graham, lead the children to the exhilarating and secret world of the ancients to uncover the secrets of these civilizations. Through expressive and confidence building workshops this project will inspire children to read, write and tell their stories whilst at the same time learning about other cultures, beliefs and histories.
The current stories in 'Friends, Romans, Egyptians include some of the following -
Romulus and Remus - The Creation of Rome
The Secret Name - The story of the sun god (Ra)
Romans in Britain - Boudica, Baths and Battles
The lost Pharaoh - Tutankhamun's lost tomb

They clearly understand the needs of the primary curriculum and are willing and able to develop bespoke programmes to support school improvement. They are also keen to work with other artists to enrich the children's experience. Their strong emphasis on oral work encourages children to develop a much wider vocabulary which they are able to apply across the curriculum.'
